Comba Tai

Definition

(Noun) Comba-Tai was coined by an Air Force Health and Wellness Medic named Alonzo M. Jones in 1984. Dr. Jones has adopted his Comba-Tai Martial Art Methods to a science based prevention program known as the Leadership and Resiliency Program. The Leadership and Resiliency program has been designated as a Best Practice/Evidence Based Intervention Modality under the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMSHA)/CSAP Model Programs and is currently operation within the Las Vegas, California, Arizona, Texas, Mississippi and Virginia. Dr. Alonzo M. Jones dream was to bring main stream martial art into science based prevention. According to the Pacific Institute of Research and Evaluation his model of the leadership and resiliency program resulted in statistically significant change for its participants.
